I have the honor of living in one of the greatest cities on earth, Manhattan. I live here with my amazing husband ~ McMorg and adorably cute Ewok dog~ Wickett. But, I grew up in the only double hyphenated town in the country, Ho-Ho-Kus, Nj. I have a head full of big curly hair and love to wear glasses. I watch movies with the lights on, love to go to thrift stores while on vacation and take road trips no matter the final destination. My mother is crazy, but also my best friend. I went to summer camp as a young girl and can play Jewish geography with the best of them. I studied fine art photography in college at UNM ~ where the light is always amazing and the land is full of enchantment. I have a husband who loves me even though I can be a bit bossy.
I love what I do because it makes my heart fill with joy to know that the beautiful images I create for my people will make them happy every time they look at them. I always get asked, “Do you mind working on the weekends?” My answer, “Why would I?! I am with people on the happiest day of their lives, getting to share the day with them… they look gorgeous, I go to a great party, listen to great music, watch them laugh, cry and every other emotion in between… I would never be anything else but what I am.” A wedding photographer.
Thanks for looking and Enjoy!!!

Today is a day for reflection and remembrance. I am not sure how often people all read my blog, but for those of you who do you might remember my Jenny and Emily Bat Mitzvah post… well yesterday, their amazing mother Joy passed away… and in her passing it made me think about all the things and people I love about life and how thankful I am for them all and you all.
So this was a fun wedding for me to shoot.. Why might you ask, Because the bride, the very lovely Laura and I went to High school together! We were part of the same group of friends, did a bunch of the same activities.. like MARCHING BAND and Choir… Well, we lost touch after we graduated ~ but with the invention of FB, here we are! It was SO much fun to be there for her wedding day ~ esp. after meeting her wonderful husband J.J. during our engagement session that we did this past fall… Anyways, I had the pleasure of being there along with my dear friend and 2nd shooter, Vanessa ~ who also was friends Laura in HS… It was an amazing Jan day and they had their reception at the VERY cool Rio Vista Monestery in Mahwah NJ… Take a look at 3 of my favorite photos below and of course, a SLIDESHOW ENJOY!!!
Sooo sorry for delays in writing.. it has been slow since winter and I have been preparing for my trip to Australia and Morgan and I bought a new place so all that has taken over our lives! ANYWAYS, I dont want to take away from the beautiful Jeanne and her new husband Larry’s blog entry! Jeanne and Larry had their ceremony and reception at the very amazing 632 Hudson here in NYC and it was just a great day with wonderful Jan. weather, sun, and the space was just gorgeous! I had the pleasure to work with the wonderful Angie Nevarez who owns Baton NY. The had just amazing food from Creative Edge ~ and I loved how Jeanne changed from her gorgeous gown into a fun little white party dress shortly after cocktail hour so that she could navigate the party floor a little bit more easily! Enjoy the photos and check out the slideshow below!
Hi All.. so sorry for the lag in posts.. these last 2 months have been a bit crazy! Anyways, this is a special post, it is really more personal for me then it is anything special photographically. Anyways.. here is the back story on my B’nai Mitzvah entry.
As many young ladies do, I spent most of my HS and almost ALL of college career making money babysitting. In particular I spent it BBsitting for 2 families. The Kleins and The Moores. Jenny and Emily (who are twins) are 2 of the 3 children that make up the Klein family… followed by their wonderful parent Joy and Andy and their brother, Zach. I have spent the last 13 years (ALL of the girls lives) knowing and helping to care for this family. This family holds a VERY large part of my heart and I love them SO much! Jen and Em were even part of my senior thesis project!
This past year, Joy told me she was sick ~ w/stage 4 cancer that had spread… and a few months back the doctors told her she only had 2 mns. left… and the next week Jenny and Emily performed their B’nai Mitzvah’s at home so that Joy could see it Well… THANKFULLY.. she was there to be part of their super fun dance party and was looking AMAZING!!!!! The party took place 2 weekends ago at this great venue in NJ called Chakra. As I like to call them, “my babies” had so much fun and I was so honored that Morgan and I were one of the “adults” that were invited! Below are some photos I took ~ I did not have a flash.. oh well! I just wanted to share with you all a few people that have touched my lives in a way that I can not express. Thank you Klein family for touching my heart and letting me also be a big part of your lives! LOVE YOU!
I had this nice wonderful heartfelt post about my love for the Van Zile family ( the 2 lovely ladies, Ali and Kelly are sisters) and then my web host company crashed my blog and I lost that entry… Anyways, I do love them all… I have shot both Kelly and then Ali’s wedding over the last 2 years and I just really am so honored to be part of this family’s lives and capturing moments in time for them to remember forever! Enjoy the slideshow below!
I met the lovely Margaret and Heather at on of my dear dear friend’s Julia’s Advent Party this past Dec. Myself, Morgan, M, & H spent a good portion of the night meeting and chit chatting.. I had just a great time with them! So when Margaret emailed me the next day, I was so thrilled they wanted me to take some photos of both her adorable bump and their soon to be addition after he/she (not sure yet ~ they are waiting) which BTW, would KILL me… I would need to know asap!!!  Anyways, I had a great time spending this past Sat. morning with them in NY photographing them and their just amazing love for each other and their little baby that is due to meet them Jan 12th. Enjoy the slideshow below, and one of my favorite photos to start off your week! Best, S.
The weekend after Thanksgiving Roee and I geared up and heading out to the Dirty Jerz to shoot a wedding of a former High School classmate of mine… Kim to her lovely new Husband Charles!!! Not only was it a blast photographing Kim’s wedding because I have known her for 12 or so years.. BUT she also got married at LIBERTY HOUSE where McMorg and I got married a little over a year before!!! Check out Kim’s fabulously unique Melissa Sweet dress… it is just so kick ass! Thank you guys for having Roee and I there to share in your amazing day!! Enjoy one of my favorite photos below and also check out the SLIDESHOW!!!
So I couldnt sleep…decided instead of laying in bed and over thinking I would go online..While online I stumbled across what will now become my new everyday camera bag! I have been looking and looking for something like this! It is called the Kelly Moore Bag and I have yet to decide if I want it in grey, black or brown leather… It looks like a purse, but is actually a camera bag! woot woot! Check out the link I posted above and also the photo below… so sweet! Well, hope you all had a better, more sound nights sleep then I did! Enjoy the day and keep an eye out for my next blog post on Kim and Charles Liberty House Wedding!
I adore Suzy and Mitch… they are just the cutest! I had the honor to photograph both their engagement photos AND their wonderful Twenty Four Fifth wedding this past November. So cute they are, we walked around the Village and Washington Sq. Park for their photos and then headed over for a fun, but emotional wedding ceremony and reception. Much love to Suzy and Mitch.. Enjoy 2 of my favs and their slideshow below!!!
